ProLogium a annonc\u00e9 le lancement de la production en s\u00e9rie de sa nouvelle batterie lithium-c\u00e9ramique de 3,5e g\u00e9n\u00e9ration \u00e0 Ta\u00efwan, une avanc\u00e9e qui rapproche de la commercialisation l'une des technologies les plus attendues pour la prochaine g\u00e9n\u00e9ration de voitures \u00e9lectriques.<\/p><p>D'apr\u00e8s des tests r\u00e9alis\u00e9s par des organismes ind\u00e9pendants, la nouvelle cellule atteint une densit\u00e9 \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique de 381 Wh\/kg et de 903 Wh\/L. Ces chiffres d\u00e9montrent le potentiel des batteries \u00e0 l'\u00e9tat solide pour accro\u00eetre l'autonomie des v\u00e9hicules \u00e9lectriques sans augmenter proportionnellement la taille et le poids de la batterie.<\/p><h3>Qu\u2019est-ce qui change avec une batterie \u00e0 semi-conducteurs\u00a0?<\/h3><p>Les batteries classiques des voitures \u00e9lectriques utilisent un \u00e9lectrolyte liquide pour permettre aux ions de se d\u00e9placer entre les \u00e9lectrodes. Dans les batteries \u00e0 l'\u00e9tat solide, cet \u00e9lectrolyte est remplac\u00e9 par un mat\u00e9riau solide.<\/p><p>Cette modification pourrait permettre une plus grande densit\u00e9 \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique, c'est-\u00e0-dire stocker plus d'\u00e9nergie dans un espace et un poids donn\u00e9s.<\/p><p>Pour une voiture \u00e9lectrique, cela a des cons\u00e9quences directes. Une batterie \u00e0 plus haute densit\u00e9 \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique pourrait augmenter consid\u00e9rablement l'autonomie sans alourdir le v\u00e9hicule. L'alternative serait de maintenir une autonomie similaire avec une batterie plus petite et plus l\u00e9g\u00e8re.<\/p><p>Cette technologie promet \u00e9galement des am\u00e9liorations en mati\u00e8re de s\u00e9curit\u00e9, bien que ces avantages doivent encore \u00eatre d\u00e9montr\u00e9s dans des conditions r\u00e9elles de production et d'utilisation \u00e0 grande \u00e9chelle.<\/p><h3>381 Wh\/kg et une batterie certifi\u00e9e<\/h3><p>La nouvelle cellule ProLogium a une capacit\u00e9 de 185,4 Ah. T\u00dcV Rheinland a valid\u00e9 sa densit\u00e9 \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique de 381 Wh\/kg, tandis que UL Solutions a soumis la batterie \u00e0 un test sp\u00e9cifique pour v\u00e9rifier sa classification en tant que batterie enti\u00e8rement \u00e0 l'\u00e9tat solide.<\/p><p>Lors du test, la cellule est rest\u00e9e sous vide pendant six heures \u00e0 une temp\u00e9rature de 120 degr\u00e9s. La perte de masse \u00e9tait inf\u00e9rieure \u00e0 0,05 %, soit en dessous de la limite de 0,5 % \u00e9tablie par la m\u00e9thodologie utilis\u00e9e pour d\u00e9terminer l'absence de solvants liquides volatils.<\/p><p>La batterie utilise l'architecture de cellule Logithium de ProLogium, bas\u00e9e sur un s\u00e9parateur en c\u00e9ramique et une structure p\u00e9rim\u00e9trique scell\u00e9e.<\/p><h3>Plus de 1 200 kilom\u00e8tres au volant d'une Mercedes EQS<\/h3><p>L'un des \u00e9l\u00e9ments qui nous permet le mieux de comprendre le potentiel de cette technologie est celui obtenu lors des tests r\u00e9alis\u00e9s en collaboration avec Mercedes-Benz.<\/p><p>ProLogium et Mercedes collaborent depuis plusieurs ann\u00e9es au d\u00e9veloppement de batteries de nouvelle g\u00e9n\u00e9ration et ont d\u00e9j\u00e0 test\u00e9 cette technologie sur des v\u00e9hicules r\u00e9els. Lors d'un de ces tests, une Mercedes EQS \u00e9quip\u00e9e d'une batterie ProLogium a atteint une autonomie de plus de 1\u00a0200 kilom\u00e8tres avec une seule charge.<\/p><p>Cela ne signifie pas que les futures voitures \u00e9lectriques offriront automatiquement une autonomie sup\u00e9rieure \u00e0 1\u00a0000 kilom\u00e8tres. Ce r\u00e9sultat est li\u00e9 \u00e0 une configuration sp\u00e9cifique et \u00e0 des conditions de test particuli\u00e8res. Il illustre toutefois le potentiel d'augmentation de la densit\u00e9 \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 l'int\u00e9gration d'une nouvelle architecture de batterie dans un v\u00e9hicule con\u00e7u pour l'utiliser.<\/p><h3>Le principal probl\u00e8me demeure la fabrication de millions de batteries.<\/h3><p>Le lancement de la production en s\u00e9rie est une \u00e9tape importante, mais les batteries \u00e0 semi-conducteurs sont encore loin de remplacer les batteries conventionnelles dans les voitures \u00e9lectriques produites en grande s\u00e9rie.<\/p><p>Le principal d\u00e9fi ne consiste plus seulement \u00e0 atteindre une densit\u00e9 \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique \u00e9lev\u00e9e. Les fabricants doivent d\u00e9montrer leur capacit\u00e9 \u00e0 produire les cellules en masse, \u00e0 maintenir une qualit\u00e9 constante, \u00e0 garantir leur durabilit\u00e9 et \u00e0 r\u00e9duire les co\u00fbts \u00e0 un niveau comp\u00e9titif.<\/p><p>L'usine de ProLogium \u00e0 Taoyuan a une capacit\u00e9 initiale d'environ 0,5 GWh par an, et des plans d'expansion sont pr\u00e9vus. L'entreprise construit \u00e9galement une nouvelle usine \u00e0 Dunkerque, en France, con\u00e7ue pour produire initialement 4 GWh et avec une capacit\u00e9 de conception pouvant atteindre 44 GWh.<\/p><p>La diff\u00e9rence par rapport \u00e0 l'industrie actuelle reste \u00e9norme\u00a0: les batteries lithium-ion sont fabriqu\u00e9es depuis des ann\u00e9es \u00e0 l'\u00e9chelle de dizaines ou de centaines de gigawattheures.<\/p><h3>La physique du solide commence \u00e0 quitter le laboratoire.<\/h3><p>La v\u00e9ritable signification de l\u2019annonce de ProLogium se situe donc au-del\u00e0 de 381 Wh\/kg.<\/p><p>La technologie commence \u00e0 franchir la transition entre le prototype et la solution industrielle.
